Safety Programs
Safety
Safety, quality, and performance are fundamental to Houck's
successand our commitment to our customers. OSHA places Houck
Specialty Contractors employees in "high-risk" categories
of employment due to our specialized types of work and the heights
at which we frequently work. Therefore, in a continual, conscientious
effort to maintain a safe working environment for our employees,
and for the safety of our customers, their employees, and their
patrons, safety is our number-one concern on every job we undertake.
Quality
The comprehensive safety program we employ in order to educate our
employees, assess hazards, and prevent accidents is among the best
in our industry! Our efforts have been recognized by our insurance
company, OSHA and its affiliates (MOSH, VOSH), the American Subcontractors
Association, Keystone Building Contractors Association, and our
industry peers. Our safety program also received the National Roofing
Contractors Association's National Gold Circle Award in 1995...the
only safety program ever to receive this prestigious award.
Performance
Additionally, and most importantly, our commitment to safety is
visible in our workman's compensation modification rate, which is
one of the lowest in Pennsylvania. This rate shows the effectiveness
and success of our safety programs in reducing accidents and maintaining
a safe environment for all involved.
